GRIDLOK [ Violence | Virus | Project 51 ] - SF

As one of America's hardest working producers and DJs, Gridlok has
charted a steady, methodical path into the vanguard of drum and bass.
His tracks enjoy the support of drum and bass' finest, from Andy C to
Bailey. His work ethic and tireless efforts to advance the sonic breadth
of the music have yielded tremendous dividends for drum and bass fans
worldwide. Recent tracks such as "Heatwave" on Violence have become
staples of countless major league DJs worldwide, and they are huge crowd
favorites. His aesthetic firmly cemented to the dance floor, Gridlok has
been successful at carving out a sound that manages to incorporate
fragmentary echoes of his musical interests outside of drum and bass
while maintaining the hard, shining surface of drum and bass at its most
technologically advanced edge. With a series of forthcoming releases
lined up for Violence, Virus, and other labels, and no slowing down in
his DJ schedule, look for Gridlok to continue his ascendance into the
highest echelons of drum and bass in 2004.

SILVER of ACCIDENTAL HEROES [ Virus | Metalheadz | Nemesis ] - UK

Sonic & Silver formed early in 1999 to provide an umbrella name for the
collaborative production work of Accidental Heroes. Their style is heavy
but with a musical soul. It is a mixture of heavy funk breaks, fat
bubbling dub wise bass and cinematic atmospherics creating tracks that
strike the right chord every time. Silver is currently working alongside
BBC1xtra, V records, Emotif, Timeless, LPlates, Random Records
(Australia) and has recently been working alongside Hive & Gridlock in
San Francisco. The forthcoming projects are intended to be an outlet for
only Sonic & Silvers finest pieces, and will hopefully set a new
standard for their work. The concept is simply of diversity, and their
own work will feature very different styles, encompassing their heavier
side as well as their more musical, melodic one. Their tracks have never
been stronger, or more abundant. If they continue with their rich vein
of form, it will no longer be possible that chance provided their tag.

BOBBY JAE [ District Soul | DCDNB | Upfront ] - DC

Mastering the sultry, sexy sounds of DC drum and bass, Bobby Jae never
fails with his impeccable mixing and top-notch selection. With
collaborations in the studio and a new CD in the works, Bobby is taking
soulful drum and bass to a level of its own. If you haven't already,
make sure to get your copy of Perpetual Motion tonight which was 1 of 7
mixes recognized in URB magazine's Mix-It Best of 2003.

SUSHIMINUS & BASSMACHINE [ Upfront | Kind Bass Inc. ] - DC

Known for his signature breaks and amens, Upfront's own Sushiminus will
be laying down the thick beats along with the infamous Bassmachine,
another favorite in the DC/Bmore area. They will surely get the 5:DNB
massive jumpin as they warm up the decks for the one and only Gridlok.

SHARPNESS [ Substitution | Platinum | 5:DNB ] - PHI

A true master of ceremonies, MC Sharpness will bless the mic with
lyrical finesse and unmatched crowd control. One half of dynamic duo
Mental Sharp, Jay and partner Armanni have been rockin clubs around the
world with residencies in LA, Bmore, Philly, NYC and DC. Currently busy
on tour with Goldie and Craze, check out as Sharpness makes a unique
solo appearance at 5:DNBsessions tonight.
